Jay Williams born in 1981 is from Plainfield, New Jersey. At St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, Williams excelled as a multi-sport athlete earning awards all over the board from chess to basketball. After competing in the McDonald's All-American game and Slam Dunk Contest in high school, Williams accepted an offer to play basketball at Duke University. Williams continued to shine in college by being named the ACC Rookie of the Year and National Freshman of the Year by The Sporting News. In his next coming years he would earn the honors of National Player of the Year in 2002, 2x All-American First team, and an NCAA Champion. These accomplishments were enough to get his number 22 hung in the rafter at Cameron Indoor Stadium for Duke. After Duke he was drafted 2nd overall by the Chicago Bulls in 2002. He had a fantastic rookie year making the All-Rookie Second team, not before having his career come to a halt due to injury. Williams now works as a Basketball analyst for ESPN.
